![]() ![]() I've noticed that when Keyboard Maestro Engine is running, the Command-Tab keystroke for switching between open apps is messed up and not working properly. Is it not possible to do combos which include the two VoiceOver keys? Or am I doing something wrong?Ģ. Other key combos are entering fine though. For example I wanted to enter Shift-Control-Option-O, but it would not enter in the field for me. However I can't seem to set hot key combos that include the two VoiceOver keys. I got the dialogue box telling me to give Keyboard Maestro access in the Security and Privacy panel of System Preferences, which I have done. ![]() I'm trying the app out at the moment and have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.ġ. Thanks for all your work with the developer and the podcast. The code is APPLEVIS (must be in all caps) and can be redeemed through the developer’s website. Keyboard Maestro usually sells for $36, but the developer has very kindly passed us a discount code which will save you 20%. More information on Keyboard Maestro can be found on the developer’s website at: ![]() It also incorporates the MacOS Classic utility Program Switcher, which allows you to launch, switch, and quit applications with a simple keystroke. If you’re not familiar with Keyboard Maestro, it’s a Mac application that allows you to perform a multitude of tasks simply by pressing a keystroke. In the meantime, Keith and I will be recording a podcast which demonstrates some of the features of KeyBoard Maestro and how it can be used with VoiceOver. There are, however, still a few areas that need further work, but the developer is striving to address these in a future update. I’m pleased to report that the latest update includes a number of accessibility fixes, which now makes much of the application usable with VoiceOver. That might give you some idea for your use cases.Hi, my friend Keith and I been working with the developer of the popular Mac application Keyboard Maestro to make it more accessible with VoiceOver. Checkout some existing macros people have shared. My suggestion would be to tryout KM and see how it fits your cases. When I started trying out KM, I only had one or two macros but as time went by I could find KM to be more useful for many use cases. You have to do some trial and error but it allowed me to run automation on apps which didn’t allow me earlier. ![]() KM finds that specific image in the screen and then runs your automation. I can find specific section using the image like certain icon or menu text. Eg., I have an app which does not provide KB shortcuts but only uses mouse actions. Last but not least is the powerful find image action in KM. Just invoke them at certain condition and ask KM to output the whole script output in separate window ( not terminal window) In KM, I don’t have to rewrite my scripts. I run multiple scripts run at certain schedule and when certain conditions are met I.e it will wait till certain condition occur eg., specific folder is mounted, or when certain window is at top etc., and have the output in a notification / separate window etc., we can do the same in Alfred but you have to format your script output to json and you should not have any other output. I invoke KM macros via Alfred and vice versa. Scheduling: I have multiple scheduled workflows in KM which does complex operations frequently. In KM creating such palettes are very easy and handy. Eg., I have a macro which disables/closes certain apps, disables notifications when any of my video conferencing apps are open or in front.Ĭreate macro palettes / macro groups which allows to have preset of your automation snippets at your fingertips globally or app specific Eg., I have a palette for text operations like transform CSV, TSV formats, markdown formatting etc., you can do the same using BTT but you have to create custom html/ JS scripts. I found that KM is the easiest of all to create such sequences. You can create complex automation sequences easily with variables. I don’t use these tools to the full capabilities but Here is how I see them fit for my use cases. All these tools are great for productivity. Just my 2 cents - I use BTT, Alfred and Keyboard Maestro (KM). ![]()
